Dr. Melissa Mork, a psychology professor and chair of the Psychology Department at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul, spoke to us about the power of humor in our daily lives.  As a clinical psychotherapist and bereavement counselor, she has studied how humor affects as individuals and as a community.  She outlined the four primary humor styles; aggressive, self-deprecating, affiliative and self-enhancing, and discussed the benefits of each along with the potential risks when the audience or target of the humor isn't receptive to the joke.  Humor plays a major role in Melissa's work as a teacher, psychotherapist and bereavement counselor, facilitating learning resilience and healing.  An informative and entertaining presentation...Thanks, Melissa!
