Two Members Receive Paul Harris Fellow Recognition

The Paul Harris Fellowship is named for Paul Harris, who founded Rotary with three business associates in Chicago in 1905.  The Fellowship was established in his honor in 1957 to express appreciation for a contribution of $1000 to the humanitarian and educational programs of The Rotary Foundation.  Those programs include an array of projects that save and invigorate the lives of people around the world and enhance international friendship and undersrtanding.  Foundation programs provide eductional opportunities, food, potable water, health care immuniztions and shelter for millions of persons.  Rotarians also designate a Paul Harris Fellow to recognize another person whose life demonstrates a shared purpose with the objectives and mission of the Rotary Foundation to build world understanding and peace.

When a Rotarian has attained the $1000 giving level, they receive Paul Harris Fellow recognition.  It may take a few years, of systematic giving, to attain the $1000 giving level.  When a Rotarian achieves the $2000 giving level they become a Paul Haris Fellow +1 (PHF+1), at the $3000 giving lever the Rotarian becomes a PHF+2.  Each time a Rotarin attains another $1000 giving level they receive recogniton.
