Clare Brumback, the new president of CEAP, talked about CEAP's growth over the past 44 years.  From humble beginnings as an aid network for unwed mothers in Brooklyn Center, CEAP (Community Emergency Assistance Center) has grown, along with the increasing need, into a multifaceted organization providing food, financial assistance and financial counseling in Hennepin, Anoka and even our corner of Ramsey County.  CEAP currently serves over 28,000 individuals each year.

Iris McGinnis, secretary of the CEAP board of directors, talked about the "Walk A Mile For Our Neighbors" event this Sunday, August 10th form 10:00 to 2:00 at Silverwood Park in St Anthony (Silver Lake Road and County Road E).  This walk will benefit CEAP and the local Community Support Center.  Take some time on Sunday to take a walk in beautiful Silverwood Park, get some publicity for NBMV Rotary and, of course, promote a valuable community service.  You don't need to contribute to walk because the club has already contributed for you.  All you have to do is show up and identify yourself as Rotarians or guests of Rotarians for the club to get recognition and for you to be eligible for door prizes.  Even dogs count for recognition, so bring 'em if you got 'em.

Clare and Iris gratefully accepted a check for $1,000 to support our local Community Support Center (see photo below).
